STX Group Aims For KRW25 Trillion In Sales, KRW33 Trillion In Orders In 2010
STX Group Tuesday set business targets for 2010 which it described as 'ambitious', helped by an expected recovery of the shipbuilding and shipping industry and the growth of its plant and energy division. STX Group is targeting KRW25 trillion (about $22 billion) in sales and KRW33 trillion in new orders in 2010, compared to sales of KRW23 trillion and orders worth KRW16 trillion estimated for this year, the company said in a statement.
Orders for plants and vessels are usually reflected in the bottom-line a couple of years later because it takes years to build plants and ships.
The group also aims for an operating profit of KRW1 trillion for next year by advancing further into emerging markets such as the Middle East, Latin America and Africa, said the statement.
