China's shipbuilding industry output value up 29.2% in Jan-Nov
The total industrial output value of China's shipbuilding industry increased 29.2% year on year to RMB 494.3 billion in the first 11 months of this year, said the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in a statement on its website. The growth rate in the first 11 months was 34.4 percentage points less than that in the same period of last year, according to the statement.
The shipbuilding sector saw delivery value of exports rise 17.2% from a year earlier to RMB 228.4 billion in the period. The growth was 44.5 percentage points lower than in the corresponding period of last year.
During the period from January to November, the sector finished 36.54 million DWT of orders, up 41% year on year, and received 22.94 million DWT of new ship orders, down 61% from a year earlier.
In the first ten months of this year, China's 70 major shipbuilding enterprises realized RMB 200.5 billion in core business revenue, up 20.6% year on year, and reaped RMB 19.3 billion in gross profits, down 2.1% from a year earlier.
