Atomflot ordered SF container ship in Italy, monitor building
Ordered in Italy by Russian Atomflot a container ship for transportation of spent fuel (SF) and waste, will be built according to the standards of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RC) and under its technical control, the RC press service reports.
At the moment the ship designed is being under construction at the dockyard of Fincantieri corporation, Italy with participation of Russian Vympel design bureau experts. The ship’s length is reported to be 84 m., width 14 m., to a deposit of 4 m., deadweight of 4 thousand tones.
The contract for ship building was signed by Klaudio Skajola, the Minister of Economic development of Italy and Sergey Kirienko, general manager of Rosatom State corporation back in 2008.
