Shiprepair-Baltic LLC (Kaliningrad region) suspends its operation due to absence of orders
Shiprepair-Baltic LLC (Kaliningrad region) suspended its operation due to absence of orders. The according announcement was made by Galina Yankovskaya, Minister of Social Policy and Labour of Kaliningrad Region, reported rugrad. As per her, back payments on salaries amounted to RUR1.2 mln. The Minister insists most part of the personnel was employed at Baltic Shipyard Yantar.
The enterprises had been operating since 1946. It was specialized in repair of maritime transport and fishing fleet as well as ‘river-sea’-class vessels and port fleet ships. Starting from 2003 the shipyard commenced various metalworks release and building of small vessels. Company’s facilities depot accounts for over 20 units. About 200 vessels have been repaired at the shipyard in 5-year pre-recession period.
