Constanta shipyard doubles turnover
Santierul Naval Constanta (SNC - Constanta Shipyard), the second largest shipbuilder in Romania, controlled by businessman Gheorghe Bosanceanu, doubled its business in the first half of this year, to 290 million RON (68.7 million euros). The company's net profit climbed by 63.6% in the same period, to 8.4 million RON (2 million euros). The advance in the builder's business has to do with the company delivering two tankers designed for the transport of chemical products, which the company built for foreign partners. In the first half of 2008, SNC delivered only one ship used for the transport of petroleum products, selling another two ships in the second half of the year. "In the first half of 2009, SNC delivered two ships, and will deliver a further three ships of the same kind to foreign clients in the second half of the year," reads the company's report.
