Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard (MNP Group, Nizhni Novgorod) will deliver two tankers project RST22 of New Armada type built for Palmali Group to Turkmenian sea and river shipping company, Krasnoye Sormovo reports according to IF-Region.
According to Nikolai Zharkov, Director General of the shipyard, the contract with the shipping company on purchase of two tankers was signed on June 11, 2009. Each vessel costs $15.5 mln, total contract cost - $31 mln.
The contract earlier signed with Palmali Group covered the construction of 10 chemical tankers. The head vessel was delivered to the customer in July 2008, the second – in August, the thirds – in October, the forth – in December, the fifth – in May 2009. Then Palmali rejected purchasing the rest of the tankers.
Vessels project RST22 are designed by Marine Engineering Bureau (Odessa). The vessels’ class is Volgo-DonMax.
The length of project RST22 vessels is 139.95 m, breadth – 16.6 m, depth – 6.0 m. Deadweight of the vessels of the new series exceeds that of the previous one by 650 tonnes. Higher capacity of the tanks does not change vessels’ possibilities in rivers. The capacity of six cargo tanks and two slop tanks is 8,090 cubic meters, deadweight in sea – some 7,050 tonnes (with the draft of 4.60 m), in river (with draft of 3.60 m) – some 4,700 tonnes, speed in operation – 10.5 knots.
The vessels meet the requirements of Russian Maritime Registry of Shipping class KM Ice 2 R1 AUT1 COMBO oil tanker/chemical tanker type 2 (vegetable oil) (ESP) ECO DESING.
