CMA CGM increases Asia-Red Sea rate by US$500/TEU from September 8
FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM will levy a US$500 per TEU rate increase on all Asian cargo - except on shipments from Japan - to Red Sea ports starting September 8.
The increase, which the company describes as part of a Rate Restoration Programme, will cover the ports of Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), Ain Sokhna (Egypt), Aqaba (Jordan), Djibouti, Port Sudan (Sudan), Aden and Hodeidah (Yemen).
