Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang visits CMA CGM's headquarters

CHINESE Prime Minister Mr Li Keqiang, together with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, will tour the Marseilles head office of French shipping giant CMA CGM today July 1.

The delegation will include the Chinese Foreign Affairs Minister Yi Wang, China's National Reform and Development Commission minister Shaoshi Xu, Trade Minister Hucheng Gao, Chinese ambassador to France Jun Zhai and Marseilles Chinese Consul General Jinsong Yu.

During the visit, two major economic agreements will be concluded, the company communique said. Since 1992 and the opening of its first office in Shanghai, CMA CGM has built strong relationships with China.

During the second half, Chinese shipyards will deliver three 18,000-TEU vessels to CMA CGM. Those will be the Group's largest vessels and the biggest ones to have ever been built by Chinese shipyards.

They will be named after great explorers, and one of them will be named CMA CGM Zheng He, in recognition of the famous Chinese explorer.

Said CMA CGM chairman and CEO Jacques Saade: "The Chinese Prime Minister's visit is a great recognition of the unique links our group has developed with China. We are proud of the honour and of the confidence that this visit demonstrates."
